Some folks see the world as a stone
\nConcrete dashed in dull monotone
\nYour heart is the big box of paints
\nAnd others, the canvas we’re dealt

\nHow coloured the flowers all smelled
\nAs they huddled there, in petalled prayer
\nThey told me this, as I knelt there
\nAwaken you dreamers
\nAdrift in your beds
\nBalloons and streamers
\nDecorate the inside of your heads
\nPlease let some out
\nDo it today
\nBut don’t let the loveless ones sell you
\nA world wrapped in grey
\nSome folks pull this life like a weight
\nDrab and dragging dreams made of slate
\nYour heart is the big box of paints
\nAnd others, the canvas we’re dealt

\nAwaken you dreamers
\nAsleep at your desks
\nParrots and lemurs
\nPopulate your unconscious grotesques
